I took away so much from my short time at HCJ CPAs & Advisors. I gained a great deal of knowledge and so many new relationships during my time with the firm. On my first day of work, I was very nervous, but everyone was welcoming and helpful. HCJ really cares about their employees, which creates an awesome work environment. It was very important to me to find a firm to work for that feels like a family, and HCJ definitely does.

The internship with HCJ CPAs & Advisors definitely exceeded my expectations. I was exposed to a variety of clients and industries (on both the audit and tax sides) and learned a lot in the process. I really liked that the interns do similar work and are held to the same expectations as the full-tie staff members. As a result of this, I gained a lot of experience and learned so much in a short timeframe. On top of that, the firm offers great continuing education opportunities and CPE. I participated in several in-house training and CPE sessions during my internship and was encouraged to seek out others that interested me. Obtaining career skills through this internship definitely prepared me for a fulltime accounting position, and even helped me in the auditing class I was taking at the time.

I discovered the HCJ CPAs & Advisors internship through the Little Rock accounting career fair. It was great because it allowed me to get a small taste for some real-world accounting, to get a glimpse of the culture of the firm, and to get my foot in the door. The internship was flexible enough to work around my school schedule, which was huge. And having contact with the firm is what ultimately helped me get a fulltime job upon graduating.
