With over three decades of experience in both public and private accounting, Paula brings seasoned expertise and tenacious problem-solving to every client engagement. She joined HCJ CPAs & Advisors in 2023 and currently serves as a CAS Manager in the Client Accounting Services Department. Paula works closely with clients across a range of industries, including property management, agriculture, and healthcare.
Throughout her career, Paula has provided services ranging from payroll and tax compliance to accounting software conversions. Her ability to see the big picture allows her to develop effective, efficient solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Notably, she has helped clients successfully recover data during failed system conversions and secure IRS penalty waivers on delinquent payroll tax filings.
Paula earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arkansas State University and is a licensed CPA in both Arkansas and Alabama. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of CPAs.
Originally from Izard County, Arkansas, Paula moved to Athens, Alabama in 2010. She and her husband, Brian, have been married for 34 years and have two grown children, Chase and Charlee, as well as a beloved mini Golden Doodle named Preslee. Paula enjoys reading suspense novels, volunteering at the North Alabama Foster Closet, and exploring the outdoors with her family.
