At HCJ CPAs & Advisors, we are excited to welcome our newest group of interns for 2025. These talented individuals bring diverse backgrounds, impressive academic achievements, and a shared commitment to excellence in accounting. We are proud to support their professional growth and look forward to their contributions to our firm. Get to know our interns below!


Joel Penrose – Tax Intern

Joel is a Tax Intern, where he gathers essential information and prepares tax returns for individuals and entities. He also assists with transitioning data to the firm’s updated software. A graduate of Arkansas State University with a B.S. in Accounting, he is currently pursuing his Master’s in Accounting and Data Analytics. Passionate about tax law, Joel enjoys helping individuals maximize their financial benefits. Originally from England, he played semi-professional rugby before earning a scholarship to study in the U.S. He is also an advocate for the NEA Humane Society.


Lauren Dewey – Audit Intern

Lauren is an Audit Intern at HCJ CPAs and is currently pursuing her MAcc at Arkansas State University. She has a keen interest in structured, analytical work, making auditing a great fit for her skills. In her free time, she enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with family.


Olivia Weber – Tax Intern

Olivia is a Tax Intern working on preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses. She holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Central Arkansas and is pursuing her Master of Accountancy. Inspired by her mother’s career, Olivia found her passion for accounting early on. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, and snowboarding.


Kam’Ryn Glover – Tax Scanning Intern

Kam’Ryn supports HCJ’s tax preparers by organizing and scanning client files. A student at the University of Central Arkansas, she is majoring in Accounting and credits her mother for guiding her toward this field. In her spare time, she enjoys coloring, painting her nails, and listening to music.


Lindsey Storey – Tax Intern

Lindsey brings prior experience from Yoakum, Lovell & Co. and Goad & Co. LLC to her role as a Tax Intern. She is pursuing a dual major in Accounting and Information Systems Audit and Control at Arkansas State University. Lindsey is passionate about service work, a value instilled in her by her grandfather. She enjoys reading, baking, and crafting.


Johnathon Knapp – Tax Intern

A former U.S. Air Force Aircraft Mechanic, Johnathon transitioned into accounting and is currently a Tax Intern at HCJ. He is a student at the University of Central Arkansas and prides himself on his determination. Outside of work, he enjoys anime, golf, weightlifting, and video games.


Connor Stack – CAS Intern

Connor is a CAS Intern at HCJ, currently pursuing his BA and MA in Accounting at Hendrix College. He attributes his success to the unwavering support of his parents. An avid golfer and Lego enthusiast, he enjoys the scenic beauty of Little Rock and spends his free time working out and reading.


Lanie Cornelius – Audit Intern

Lanie Jo is an Audit Intern working on client audits. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s in Accounting at the University of Central Arkansas and plans to obtain her MBA. Growing up in Mount Pleasant, AR, she developed a love for numbers and organization. In her free time, she enjoys barrel racing and reading.


Owen Rosenblad – Tax Intern

Owen is a Tax Intern preparing individual, trust, and business tax returns. He is a junior at the University of Arkansas and a member of Beta Alpha Psi. Previously, he worked in the restaurant industry as a cook and server. An avid sports fan, he enjoys basketball, soccer, and tennis.


Jaxson Adams – Tax Scanning Intern

Jaxson is a Tax Scanning Intern and a student at the University of Central Arkansas, where he is pursuing a BA in Accounting. He enjoys reading, watching movies, and playing board games. Originally from Hope, AR, he appreciates the walking trails in downtown Hot Springs.


Joshua Burke – Tax Scanning Intern

Joshua is a Tax Scanning Intern and a student at Arkansas State University. He was drawn to accounting after a career interest survey in eighth grade. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, and reading. His goal is to visit all 52 Arkansas state parks—he has already been to 36!


Christian Booth – Tax Intern

Christian is a Tax Intern at HCJ, preparing federal and state tax returns. She is currently studying at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and reading.


Emma Duncan – Tax Intern

Emma is a Tax Intern and an accounting student at Arkansas State University. She discovered her passion for accounting through summer jobs working with her mother. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and gaming with friends. She is engaged to Gabriel Goodwin and currently resides in Jonesboro.
