Client Accounting Specialist

HCJ CPAs & Advisors & Co is seeking a Client Accounting Specialist to perform full charge data analysis and tax processing duties. We are a full-service accounting firm with clients in many different industries. This position will be responsible for accounting / bookkeeping functions for assigned clients. Responsibilities include payroll services, month end closing, general ledger reconciliations and postings, sales/use tax reporting, payment processing, and preparation of income tax for individuals, corporations and partnerships. This position report to our Jonesboro office but will work with our Little Rock, White Hall and Rogers locations. Some in state travel will be required.

 

Knowledge required

General accounting knowledge is required. A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping including recording journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, bank statements, and other general ledger functions is a must. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), QuickBooks, and Adobe PDF.

 

Experience/Education

Accounting degree preferred or two years equivalent work experience in accounting (payroll, A/R, & A/P). Experience working in an accounting firm desired.

Information Technology Manager

Job Duties:

This position is responsible for all HCJ technology, Information Technology (IT) strategic direction, oversight of vendor technology products and platforms, ensuring appropriate levels of information privacy and security oversight and controls, and management of the IT function for the organization.

 

Technology Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal and external day-to-day IT operations of HCJ, providing overall management of technology vendor(s), and a comprehensive on-going IT project management plan.
  • Oversee investments in technology hardware, software, and talent to meet the goals and objectives of HCJ. Ensure that all initiatives in the IT portfolio have clear business goals and success metrics.
  • Provide strategic direction and vision to direct the overall design of HCJ’s technology platform to ensure current and future business goals can be met.
  • Assist in the creation and management of procurement processes for the acquisition of technology products and services.
  • Ongoing, this role will oversee and ensure technology vendor deliverables, contractual requirements, performance guarantees, and implementation and testing milestones are met.
  • Direct technology strategy and operations, including management of computer hardware and software, telecommunications, and networks.
  • Report to the Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer on a regular basis, and participate in Leadership Team meetings —i.e., privacy and security, solution architecture, solution integration systems, data migration, solution testing, and auditing.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist with department and firm projects as needed.
  • Assist with annual technology budgeting process as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of all hardware. Assist with acquisition and disposals.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies that can improve IT systems performance and increase company profits through efficiencies.
  • Assume other duties as assigned

  • Proven project management skills, including experience managing technology vendors and vendor relations. Experience designing and monitoring technology service level agreements.
  • Skilled in problem analysis, resolution, and ability to accurately assess staff needs.
  • Understands and maintains the confidentiality of all firm and client information.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Great understanding of Cloud based computing and implementation of such systems with strong knowledge of IT Systems, Networks, and software solutions.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects/tasks with attention to detail.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience managing technology and information resources.
  • 2 years of management experience; either in a leadership role or project management.
  • Experience providing strategic IT direction.
