HCJ CPAs & Advisors & Co is seeking a Manager of Human Talent. The main responsibilities of this position include filling vacant positions in the firm, creating a talent development program focused on long-term retention, and performing human resources duties, such as ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and developing and implementing policies and procedures for our firm. Recruiting needs are focused on both experienced candidates and the college recruiting process. This position is part of the leadership team, and the ideal candidate will be able to work independently while meeting deadlines and recruiting goals.

 

Essential Functions

Recruiting

Partner with members of the firm to determine staffing needs. Proactively recruit for specialized positions. Maintain a presence on college campuses. Develop relationships with key college contacts for intern purposes. Screen resumes and perform in-person and phone interviews with candidates. Coordinate interviews and draft offers. Perform reference and background checks.

 

Retention

Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries. Recommend and coordinate employee engagement programs and events. Administer appropriate company assessments (cultural and behavioral). Conduct internal assessments of employee satisfaction.

 

Human Resources

Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Review and stay informed regarding new and revised employment-related laws. Develop and implement policies and procedures regarding firm employees. Oversee and conduct onboarding procedures for new employees and exit procedures on terminating employees.

 

Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred majors include: business, HR, marketing or communications. Recruiting or Human Resources experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook) required. Familiarity with accounting profession desired.

 

Skills

Attention to detail with exceptional analytical and process management skills. Very strong abilities to stay organized and multi-task. A demonstrated passion for recruiting and employee relations. Interview and phone screening experience. Self-motivated and results-oriented. Interact as a team player. Results-focused. Ability to drive the recruiting and retention processes while providing responsive follow-up to current employees, candidates and hiring teams.

We are a full-service accounting firm with clients in many different industries. This position will be responsible for accounting / bookkeeping functions for assigned clients. Responsibilities include payroll services, month end closing, general ledger reconciliations and postings, sales/use tax reporting, payment processing, and preparation of income tax for individuals, corporations and partnerships. This position report to our Jonesboro office but will work with our Little Rock, White Hall and Rogers locations. Some in state travel will be required.

 

Knowledge required

General accounting knowledge is required. A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping including recording journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, bank statements, and other general ledger functions is a must. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), QuickBooks, and Adobe PDF.

 

Experience/Education

Accounting degree preferred or two years equivalent work experience in accounting (payroll, A/R, & A/P). Experience working in an accounting firm desired.

IT Specialist

SPECIALTY SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES

This position serves as the day-to-day internal technical support for HCJ employees. While working in tandem with an outsourced IT firm, this position will address matters related to workstations, peripherals, and applications in a multiple location environment.

 

TECHNOLOGY SERVICE DELIVERY

  • Provide consistent customer service experiences to on-site and remote staff by providing reliable solutions that meet or exceed expectations. Communicate outcomes and timeframes clearly and in terms staff understand.
  • Skilled in problem analysis, resolution, and ability to accurately assess staff needs.
  • Track all request for technical assistance via HCJ ticketing system.
  • Provide triage and escalation function of the support desks.
  • Ensure systems, processes, and methodologies are followed according to firm guidelines.
  • Install new user devices, PCs, accounts, applications and configure to meet departmental needs.
  • Administer new user orientation on an as needed basis. Maintain updated new user orientation materials.
  • Maintain inventory of all hardware. Assist with acquisition and disposals.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
  • Provide conference room and meeting support for virtual and live meetings.
  • Respond to alerts and emergencies outside of normal business hours.
  • Lead the deployment of new hardware and software such as MS Teams.
  • Provide hardware and software training as needed.
  • Responsible for communication to firm regarding IT matters including updates, threats, etc.

 

CONFIGURE, MAINTAIN AND MONITOR THE FIRM’S EMAIL SYSTEMS AND VOIP PHONE AND VOICEMAIL SYSTEM.

  • Add and assist with changes to the exchange global address book and all distribution lists.
  • Configure and troubleshoot mobile device connectivity and mobile policy management.
  • Assist with the Firm’s Spam/Virus Blocker software.
  • Review and assist with Spam or virus quarantined emails for release or destruction.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Assist with department and firm projects as needed.
  • Assist with annual technology budgeting process as needed.
  • As part of the technology team, assist with other projects or duties as assigned within IT.
  • Share and transfer knowledge within the firm. Provide reports to Senior Management.
  • May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

  • Proactively keep up to date on new technologies and best practices.
  • Research all planned and potential changes to understand risk and, when appropriate, the most effective backout plan.
  • Actively supports new initiatives. Identifies opportunities to improve technology-related processes and identifies risk associated with making any change to core technology services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s in information technology, computer science, or related field

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years in help desk and/or application support environments or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a computer support environment. Accounting technical support experience preferred; not required.

 

HARDWARE/SOFTWARE:

  • Extensive understanding of Windows workstations, networking, cloud computing, peripheral devices and current mobile device technologies.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
  • Previous experience in a computer support environment. Accounting technical support experience preferred; not required.
  • Be familiar with conference room/presentation equipment and programs.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position will be based in the Little Rock Office

 

TRAVEL:

  • Some in state travel required between offices.
